Le Rêveur 2012 Puligny-Montrachet

13 Feb 2014 by JR

Rather attractive combo of creaminess and struck match character on the nose. Hint of pears and apples with much more depth and palate richness than many a Puligny. Should provide fun drinking relatively early. Lovely drink. Hint of spice on the finish. Already very charming. 16++

Le Rêveur 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin

Mid cherry red. Light nose with hints of bitter cherries. Clean, cossetted, super-clean fruit with real energy even if without much depth or richness.  Maybe it will take on weight in classic burgundian style. Dry but not drying finish and clean as a whistle, just not yet totally charming. Rigorous and correct. I'd love to see this towards the end of 2014. 16+
